President’s Message
Dear EFN Members and Colleagues,
In recent years, with many governments reforming their health systems it is often difficult for professions to maintain their influence in shaping the public policy agenda. EFN has made enormous inroads in ensuring the future of nursing and nursing services and quality health delivery across Europe through concerted lobbying efforts. EFN’s involvement in the consultation regarding community action on health services is a prime example of EFN’s success in influencing policy decision making process.
There is growing evidence to suggest that the involvement of nurses and midwives in policy development has a direct relationship to the ability to change practice, raise the professional profile and improve community health outcomes.
Annette Kennedy
