EU Professional Qualifications
The Employment Committee of the European Parliament adopted, on 14 June 2007, a report on professional qualifications, establishing that the qualifications acquired in any EU Member State should be comparable across the EU by 2012. The implementation by the National Authorities of this European Qualification Framework (EQF), which should be accompanied by a system of Vocational Training Credits, will facilitate cross border mobility of workers and students who meet the requirements of the employment market through a common language employed to describe qualification levels. The report should be voted in plenary in September 2007.
